I took the Christmas tree down

I am sharing this out of season, an Easter poem I wrote a few years ago, as we were adjusting to our empty nest.

I wanted to share it with Harry Miller at Yellow Crane in the Rain. You should visit his blog. This is one of my favourite posts:

  1. It’s not the most comfortable thing, to write about how the Christmas tree ‘mocks’ us, but I think it’s probably the best word, and a powerful one.

Thanks for sharing this. Maybe it’s not as out of season as it would seem. It feels like we’re living in ‘the corpse of the summer.’ I’d love for the autumn to arrive.

Thanks also for directing traffic to my humble blog.
